• Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect location, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling den, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around vacation and hotel compound that contains many conveniences in addition to the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
