• Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling hall betting is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational vacation and hotel complex that contains many luxuries on top of the gambling den, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
