• Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is prohibited. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect spot, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; although, financing sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is real of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that highlights many luxuries on top of the casino, which offers 10,000 square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight table games.
